Damadol was a laugh riot created by 'Manoj Michigan'. And now with his “89” he is ready to take the plunge with a different genre-“Crime Thriller”.
89 stars Saswata Chatterjee, Raima Sen and Shataf Figar (from Mumbai - debuts in a lead role).
The film also stars eminent actors like Barun Chanda, Dr. Kausik Ghosh, and Biplab Dasgupta in strong character roles. Written by the maker of Hello Kolkata & Damadol, Manoj Michigan is also producing the film.
89 is all about crime, thrill, ambition for success at any cost and how it effects psychological conditions. But Why 89??
‘89’ is a journey of numbers from the past….Purba’s (Raima)past. Purba goes through a journey of incidents filled with X factors and she starts exploring the sequences to arrive at the cause of her mental turmoil, an unexplained problem.
Shataf plays an inspector from anti-terrorist squad trying to support Purba, a psychologist, in every sense possible to unravel the mystery that lays buried in her heart (as Purba searches for the same!).

Supriyo Dutta is back again with Manoj after Damadol as the DoP, while Raja Narayan Deb is composing for the film. Sanglap Bhowmick of ‘Egaro’ is editing the film.
“89” is produced under the banner of “MAGIC MOTIONZ MOVIEZ”, powered by a dear friend Ranjan Bandopadhyay from Mumbai.
